Privacy policy

Fabu is an app for booking home-based and mobile beauty and wellness providers in Australia, and for those providers to run their bookings and clients. Fabu is operated by Moko Fomo Pty Ltd (“we”, “us”). We handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, mobile number and email address. If you sign in with Apple or Google we receive your name, email address (Apple may give us a private relay address) and an account identifier — never your password.
- Bookings and payments records: appointments, services, prices, deposits and how a visit was paid (for example “cash” or “card”). We never collect or store card numbers.
- Messages you send to a provider or client inside Fabu.
- Addresses you enter for a visit, and a provider’s business location and service area.
- Photos a provider uploads for their profile. We remove location and other hidden data (EXIF) from photos before storing them.
- Contacts you choose: providers can import clients from their phone’s contacts. Only the contacts you pick are sent to Fabu.
- Approximate location while you use search, to show providers near you. It isn’t stored with your account.
- Reviews you write about a visit.
- Technical information such as your device type and, if you allow them, a push notification token for your device.
How we use it
- To create your account and sign you in (we text or email you one-time codes).
- To make, change and remind you about bookings, and to send booking texts, emails and calendar invites.
- To let clients and providers message each other without sharing phone numbers or email addresses.
- To show providers in search and on their public profile, with reviews and ratings.
- To keep Fabu safe and working: preventing abuse, fixing problems and meeting legal obligations.
We don’t sell your personal information, we don’t show advertising and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.
Who sees it
- Providers you book with see your name, your bookings with them, your messages and, for mobile visits, the visit address. They don’t see the mobile number or email you use for Fabu unless you gave it to them yourself.
- Everyone can see a listed provider’s public profile: business name, first name, services, prices, photos, reviews and suburb (a full studio address only if the provider chooses to show it).
- Service providers that run Fabu for us, only as needed: Amazon Web Services (hosting and storage, Sydney region), Twilio (text messages), Postmark (email), Google (maps, places search and Google sign-in), Apple (Sign in with Apple and notifications), Expo (push notifications) and Cronofy (if a provider connects their calendar). Some of these may process information outside Australia.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Keeping it safe and how long we keep it
Information is sent over encrypted connections and stored on secured servers with restricted access. You can delete your account in the app (Settings or Profile → Delete my account). After a 14-day grace period your account details are removed. A provider’s booking records about their clients may be kept as business records where the law requires it, and reviews stay on the provider’s profile shown as “Former client”.
Your choices
- You can see and update your details in the app, and turn notifications on or off.
- You can ask us for a copy of your personal information, or to correct it, at any time.
- Fabu is not intended for children under 16.
